The First Step of Repentance

Step one is setting aside time to be alone with God. You may want to bring a Bible, a pen and paper. Thank God for His love and ask His Holy Spirit to minister to you. When you sense His presence ask Him to bring to mind any sins He wants you to confess. [Psalm 139:23] As God brings them to mind, write them down. It can include vows you made when you were younger which no longer are needed. It could include generational curses and strongholds, filters to His Truths. Ask Him if there is anything else. When you feel your list is complete, pray through the list, confessing them one at a time. Ask Him for forgiveness. At any point of confessing a sin when you sincerely wish to be done with its hold on you, exercise your free will to repent, renouncing that sin by name using the Name of Jesus Christ/ Yeshua, under His Blood, using the full power of the Holy Spirit at that point, including any heavenly language you may have. When we come into agreement with God about our sin He restores us. We are forgiven and cleansed. You’re in the process of His Purification, on His Path to become part of the Bride without blemish or spot. Tear up the list— experience the Joy of the Lord!
